Typical bad hotel food. Not good at all. Had the fish tacos which specified "fried" but were not; ok for me but 1 lonely little piece of fish without the "Apple slaw" that was promised, not ok. Got a side of veggies: the usual sautéed zucchini & squash, nothing special. My husband had the bacon-cheeseburger: super dry and no flavor. Really should have known that this place was going to be so bad, with the tacky decor and lack of people at the door to greet you. I heard that they have the same owners as Starry Night; my god I hope not as that is my favorite restaurant in VT!! We will NOT return here!

    - I enjoyed my experience at this establishment. It's conveniently located right next to my hotel and was well within walking distance. I sat outside and with most places, service lacks because it's easy to "forget" about the people sitting out there. My

Should name it the "parking lot with traffic and trees Bar and restaurant" Brought us to a dirty table, they washed it off in front of us. Menus were wet and dirty. Also the menus they gave us was completely different from on another lol! I told my GF about a beer they had on draft she was like what are u talking about? Look at the same page on her menu... Completely different. Two strikes, third strike was there menu didn't match their website. It was mis leading. Also we sat for about 10 mins until we had enough.

Bad food, with inattentive if sincere service. Salad - bland. Crab Cakes - no seasoning whatsoever, very little taste of crab. Meatloaf - moderately acceptable, with gravy that had about twice as much salt as proper, served with zucchini that was so undercooked it was crunchy... except for the disks that were so overcooked they were mush. Really, really really bad. Stay away

I have been here numerous times over the past several years. The food & the service has been consistently great. Plus they have Switchback on tap so that certainly helps.

My wife and I got a "my jump on it" (local groupon type deal) coupon so we checked this place out. Ultimately we won't be back... The pros: The hostess, bartender and our waitress were all very friendly. They do a good amount of local food sourcing including grass fed beef. The cons: The wait for the appetizer and food was very long and when the food arrived is wasn't very good. The appetizer was ok, but the entrees were not. My wife's burger was way overcooked and my thai seafood stew was without flavor.

This restaurant has a pleasant, low key atmosphere and serves quality food and drink. You can be assured of a good meal, and it's one of my favorite stops. Sometimes it could stand to mix up the menu a bit more, and maybe add some more shellfish, but all in all, they put time and thought into preparing their meals. If you want a relaxing evening and good food, this restaurant is good place to go.

Solid choice for a casual dinner. Service was friendly. Great beer selection focusing on local breweries and their seasonal offerings (i.e. Magic Hat Howler, Trout River Chocolate Oatmeal Stout when we visited in December). Tried the calamari appetizer--it was perfectly cooked (unlike the rubbery stuff you would usually find at a restaurant) with a delighful aioli dipping sauce. Two of us had the chicken pot pie--it was fine, but the pastry-to-filling ratio was skewed to a little too much pastry. Other folks we dined with got the lamb shank, which fell off the bone, and the pot roast, which was also tender enough to cut with your fork. I'd definitely go again! The prices were a little high in my opinion, and we were sat in the room adjacent to the bar near the door. That would've been ok, but it was cold out, so anytime someone left we were chilled! You can buy $25 gift certificates for $10 (or less with a coupon code) for this restaurant on restaurant.com too which is always a plus!

People need to relax about getting their gin in the wrong glass. Ultimately the food here is quite good and fresh, albeit more expensive than the average Burlington spot. But isn't that the price one pays for a good meal?

A new definition of atrocious. The meal I just consumed here seriously made me consider raising some of my other low Yelp ratings a few stars. Seriously, it was that bad folks! Where or where to begin? This place was fairly charming at first. It had a kind of faux upscale decor about it, yet felt strangely in disrepair. The knock-off Tiffany lighting was a bad start. Anyways, our spacey waitress arrived a few minutes after we were seated to take drink orders. The first offense was the gin & tonic she brought back several minutes later for my father. Served in a pint glass with a soda straw, the ratio was way off. Seriously, how hard is it to mess up a drink with the ingredients in the name? The menu was decent but nothing special. I couldn't help but notice that the entree prices seemed high even for the types of cuisine listed. I went with the ribeye, my brother for the chicken, and my parents each ordered sandwiches. Once the food arrived (about 30 minutes later) I couldn't believe the presentation. My steak looked like something out of one of those terrible Denny's ads they had on recently. Charred black even though I had ordered medium, and drenched in what looked and tasted like gravy master. Three or four shriveled up carrot coins and some truly bizarre deep fried McNugget-esque potato things were hastily placed to the side. I felt sick after one bite of the "McNugget" and even sicker when I cut around the gristle to find my steak had a purplish tint to the inside of it. Oh yeah did I mention there was maybe one or two ounces to the thing that wasn't greasy fat? Without going into detail, the rest of my family's dishes were equally awful. My brother's chicken was plated in a ridiculous 15" bowl and was about the size of a small dinner roll. It was pink on the inside. My parents sandwiches looked ok, but I was notified later that they were both feeling sick to their stomachs. I don't know what was going on here. I'm shocked to see other semi-positive reviews. This place should be shut down. The chef should never be allowed near anything vaguely resembling food ever again. The bad service would have maybe been passible if the food was even palatable. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plague. Or you can disregard this review, go there, and get the plague yourself...

On a journey to my destiny, I happened to be staying at a hotel in the vicinity of this restaurant. During a lunch break, a group of strangers and I decided to stop in for some food and the awkward getting to know you conversation that occurs while eating in front of people you just met. The building is large and when you first enter, you feel like you are walking into someone's wealthy grandmother's house. They foyer was dark and we were not even sure if they were open. We entered further and one of the more daring ladies of our group went on a journey to find a staff member. As we went deeper inside we discovered the dining area and a couple young male waiters. They set out to prepare a table for our large group and then seated us in a part of the dining area that showed no signs of human life. The menu is typical American fare with a nice salad selection, burgers, and grilled sandwiches. My vegetarian choices were limited. I noticed however a "quiche of the day" offering and I hoped it would work for me. Victory! Roasted red peppers, spinach, and cheddar (this is VT after all) was just what I was hoping for. The rest of the table placed their orders for the Rocket salad, burgers, grilled brie and turkey sandwiches... And then the wait began... From what we could tell, there were not too many other diners so the length of time we waited seemed a bit extreme. One chap in our group mentioned that he had eaten there the night before and the service was equally as slow. The wait gave us time to chat and get to know each other better, but I was stahvin'! Our waiter walked by a few times but gave no indication of how much longer it would be or any explanation for the delay. Oy vey! Finally, after about 40 minutes our food filtered in. My quiche of the day was an individual tart, not just a piece of a larger pie. It was cute and nicely plated with a lovely salad of assorted greens, carrots, tomatoes, purple onions (which I kicked to the side! no stinky breath for me), and a lovely maple balsamic dressing. mmmm. The quiche was buttery with a nice quick of cheddar cheese and a flaky crust that I thoroughly enjoyed. Everyone else seemed content with their meals as well. Our waiter was pleasant throughout, although a bit aloof, but he had no problem with creating eight individual checks for us. The food was quite good, but the choices are limited, especially for a vegetarian. My quiche was $10 and all the other meals were in the same price range. The ambience is a bit cold and lacking, but I could see an older clientele enjoying it and the slow pace. It was semi-convenient for us, as it was right next to our hotel, but probably not a place I would journey to if I just happened to be in the area.

Upgraded to a 4, as I said we would go back, we went for lunch and man on man. One of the best reubens I have ever tasted, they had great specials and you can tell all the ingredients are fresh on the salads. Yumm!
